Design Problem: Design a movie poster

Target Audience: People interested in seeing the live action version of the original animated movie Anastasia

Background: Anastasia is an animated Disney movie about the last surviving princess of the Romanovs who lost her family, royal status, as well as most of her memories.

Design Process: I wanted the live-action movie poster to represent the characters as well as some of the plot. I used a grand fantasy background along with gold elements to show that Anastasia was once a royal princess, and I made the characters/scenes behind her have a lower opacity in order to represent them as her hazy childhood memories. I wanted the website and mobile version to feel similar to the movies poster in terms of grandeur, royalty and fantasy, so I kept many of the elements the same. I did remove the characters in the background to make sure the center of attention was on Anastasia as well as to make room for the new elements of the website and mobile version. This is a Disney princess movie, so overall, I wanted to make the website simple and easy enough to use by younger children or teenagers.

Design Solution: I designed a movie poster that is eye-catching and representative of the movie.
